Procession Rapid Prototyping reduces risk for end solutions

Not to prototype at all should simply not be an option in software development. Rapid Prototyping model strives for demonstrating functionality early on the development of a system. A TOA does this very efficiently and also support the Evolutionary Prototyping where the prototype emerges as the actual system downstream in the life cycle. As with each iteration in development, functionality is added and then ultimately translated to an efficient implementation.

Prototyping can be considered as a risk reduction activity, which reduces requirements risks. Modelling and simulation can be useful exercises in the larger organisation but by their nature are high level and do not reflect reality for the end users. Prototyping reflects real life requirements encouraging early user interaction.

Rapid Prototyping in a TOA can produce faster and more innovative solutions than theoretical modelling or simulation. It also is a complete prototyping system that handles all requirements to ensure a full and complete end result, which can either be used as a specification or taken to deployment.
